Southgate, Texas, Feb. 20, 2018 — Southgate Cinemas, which will operate in the Texas state capital, is to launch an online streaming video service in December, The Dallas Morning News reported.
The company is planning to open the service in late January, and is currently working on the deal with major Hollywood studios.
The service, which is set to launch in the next 12 to 18 months, will allow users to stream their favorite films, TV shows, and live events from a number of popular sources.
Southgate has been operating under the name of Southgate Media Group, the same name it has used for the film, television, and film-related businesses.
The entertainment division is the second largest provider of digital content for the Dallas area, according to the Dallas Business Journal.
The new Southgate streaming service will be available for both mobile and desktop.
A similar service called Southgate Music and Entertainment, which also operates in Dallas, has also been operating online.
The Southgate service will also allow users from around the country to upload their own content and will include access to a number video-sharing services and social networks.
