TUCSON, Australia — Roadhouse Cinemas has a new concept concept for their upcoming film festival, which will feature some of Australia’s best known street performers.
The theme of the festival, The Roadhouse Cinema, will be “roadhouse and street”.
The film festival is part of Roadhouse Media’s ongoing efforts to expand into the world of international cinema, and is a joint venture between Roadhouse Entertainment and The Road House Foundation.
It will feature the likes of Tony Kowalski, Ben Fowlkes, Kiefer Sutherland, Peter Soderbergh, Paul Greengrass, James Corden, James Norton and a handful of other actors.
The concept of the Roadhouse is inspired by street performers who have appeared on TV shows like Dancing with the Stars and The Amazing Race, and have also appeared in music videos, TV movies, short films, commercials, music videos and more.
“Our goal is to create a film festival where our talent and fans can come together and connect,” Roadhouse executive director, Greg Mackey, said in a statement.
“This festival is about showcasing our artists and giving them the chance to show the world what it means to be a street performer.”
Roadhouse Cinema will be run by Roadhouse Productions, which produces films for Roadhouse, and The New York-based Roadhouse Films, which also produces films.
The Roadhouses is a subsidiary of Road House Entertainment.
Roadhouse has been developing their “road house” concept for years, but the concept has never quite made it to the big screen.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the film festival.
Roadhouses main goal is “to connect with the street performers of the world” and to be able to “explore the themes and techniques they use to create the illusion of movement”, according to Roadhouse CEO Greg Mackeys website.
“We want to be the first and only film festival that allows audiences to get up close and personal with street performers and their artistry,” RoadHouse Media said in its statement.
Road house cinemas theme is “road, street, and street entertainment”.
