The best film of 2017 is coming to cinemas in Germany.
In the weeks ahead, cinemas across the country will open a wide selection of classic German films.
A selection of films by Wolfgang Herzog, Fritz Lang and others are due to open in cinemas on May 13.
The best films are all set to become available to go home with on May 18, the day after the release of the new German release of Oliver Stone’s The Death of Stalin.
The most recent films in the list are:Gravity, the latest from director Alexander Payne; The Great Gatsby, starring Johnny Depp and Nicole Kidman; The Godfather: Part II, directed by Francis Ford Coppola; and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, directed and starring Billy Bob Thornton.
The film list is based on a survey of cinemas, with the top 10 films rated by their score, a rating system that is usually used to gauge film quality.
The list was released in June and includes all films that were released in the last 10 years.
The films were selected based on their appeal to a broad audience.
Some of the most recent titles include the release by Paramount of the animated comedy film Gravity in July, which scored an 88% rating.
Other films that received a perfect score include The Great Gypsy War (94%), The Big Sick (89%) and the recent adaptation of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2.
The top ten films were chosen from 1,000 submissions.
