We’ve been lucky enough to sit down with the director of the Lad, Marcus Pickerington, and he shared with us some of his thoughts on the movie, his favorite scenes, and more.
What can we expect?
The Lad is a darkly comedic comedy about two brothers and their son, Marcus, who are growing up in a small town in New Jersey.
The boys, now in their early 20s, are always having fun and they live in a tiny apartment with a pool and a backyard.
Marcus is a shy, introverted boy, and his older brother, Luke, is the quietest of the three.
One day, while Marcus is having a birthday party, Luke’s brother, Nick, comes by and announces he is the one who has stolen Marcus’s birthday party.
Marcus and Nick get into a fight, but Nick is able to calm down the situation and is able turn the tables.
Nick is a hard-working and well-adjusted kid who always manages to keep his mouth shut.
Marcus, however, is not so fortunate.
Marcus ends up getting into an argument with Luke and then Nick.
When Luke confronts Marcus about the fight, Marcus is shocked and starts crying.
He is later seen comforting Nick by saying that he was in his way and that they were just trying to be nice.
Marcus realizes Nick’s reaction to him was wrong and tells Nick to apologize.
Nick tells Marcus he is not sorry and he goes to apologize to Luke.
Marcus walks out and goes to his room to take his medication.
Luke sees Marcus crying and rushes over to comfort him.
Marcus tells Luke that he will always love Nick and asks Luke if he will ever be able to go to college.
Luke asks Marcus if he has ever been able to tell Nick how he feels.
Marcus says that he hasn’t and that he is sorry he hurt him.
Luke walks over to Marcus and asks him if he can go see Nick’s friends, but Marcus says no.
Marcus asks Luke to go and kiss Nick on the cheek and leaves the room.
Nick asks Luke what happened and he tells Nick that Marcus got into a fistfight and Nick got into an accident.
Nick is upset and tells Marcus that he can never forgive Marcus for hurting him.
Nick apologizes and leaves.
Nick returns to his house and tells his parents that he wants to go see his friends.
Nick’s parents try to dissuade him, but he says that they will not let him go.
Nick has been going to his friends to celebrate their birthday for weeks, and Nick is getting close to his 18th birthday.
Nick wants to take a trip to his family’s house in California and see the beach.
When Nick leaves the house, he is approached by two men.
Nick says that the men are just jealous of his friendship with Marcus.
The men say they are looking for Marcus because Nick’s family is on the road and wants him to meet them.
Nick gives the men his phone and they tell Nick that they are going to ask him to come home.
Nick goes to the house and walks into Marcus’ bedroom.
Nick starts crying and asks Marcus for forgiveness.
Marcus apologizes for being rude and apologizes to Nick for making Nick feel uncomfortable.
Marcus then tells Nick what happened in the apartment.
Nick walks out of the house crying and tells everyone to leave him alone.
Nick gets up and goes back to his apartment, but tells his mother he is going to go take a walk.
Nick then tells his friends that he’s never been to California before and that his parents will never let him come back.
Nick leaves the apartment crying and says that Marcus left him and went to California.
Nick drives away from his apartment and heads to the beach to celebrate Marcus birthday with his friends and his family.
Nick returns to Marcus’ apartment and tells him that Marcus didn’t tell him where he was going, so Marcus tells Nick he has to leave.
Nick heads to Marcus apartment and finds Marcus crying on the couch.
Marcus wakes up and says he is really sorry.
Marcus starts to tell the story about how he hurt Nick and how he is ashamed of himself for the whole ordeal.
Nick runs in and tells the two men that he has been watching Marcus and that Nick is the reason Marcus left.
Nick tries to explain to the men that Nick knows how much Marcus loves him and that Marcus is the real reason Nick is going.
Nick comes out of Marcus apartment with Marcus and tells them that Marcus never told him where to go, and that no one told Nick.
Nick takes Marcus’ phone and tells it to the two thugs.
Marcus goes over to the thugs and tells each one to open up and talk to him.
The two thugs open up to Nick and tell him that he didn’t do anything wrong and that the two are friends.
The thugs then leave the apartment and
